Be one of the hundreds to participate in Philadelphia’s first glow-in.-the-dark 8.4-mile run around the Schuylkill River Loop starting at midnight on Saturday, July 19th in front of Lloyd Hall. In addition to prizes for the top three finishers, awards will be given to the most illuminated runner. All participants are invited to chill out at Lloyd Hall after their run to enjoy food, fuel, massages and entertainment.

Midnight Madness Participants must wear some piece of reflective gear or paint. We also recommend that you carry a cell phone. The course will be well lit and marshaled by bikes and support vehicles that will constantly patrol the loop throughout the entire night.


Please note - when running at night, it is required that you have on some sort of reflective gear (vest, tape, etc) that you will have to present at check-in.

Check In

Midnight Madness participants can check in between 10 pm and 11:30 pm at Lloyd Hall.



Packet Pick-Up

To avoid lines and delays on Saturday morning, you are highly encouraged to pick up your race bag on Friday, July 18th from 6 pm to 10 pm on the rooftop at Whole Foods located at 929 South Street in Philadelphia

If you absolutely cannot pick up your bag on Friday, you may do so on Saturday night between 10 pm and 11:30 pm at Lloyd Hall when you check-in.

Please remember, if you are fundraising in place of paying your registration fee, the money for your respective category is due by Friday, July 18th. You will not be able to participate in the 20in24 if your total due is not paid. If you need an extension, please email Maureen O'Toole.



How it Works

All Midnight Madness participants will start in front of Lloyd Hall at Midnight on Saturday, July 19th. Everyone will do one loop and finish in front of Lloyd Hall where there will be refreshments and entertainment inside. All Midnight Madness participants must run on the designated path. Running on the street after dark is not permitted- no exceptions.

Central Staging Area

Situated on the banks and overlooking the Schuylkill River, just north of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Lloyd Hall is the only public athletic facility on Boathouse Row. This facility is air-conditioned and will be open the entire 24 hours to all 20in24 participants. Inside, you will be able to sleep, relax, eat, watch movies, play video games and board games, get massages and even take a shower. In addition, a 24-hour secure baggage check will be made available to participants.



Re-energizing Stations

In addition to Lloyd Hall, there will be three re-energizing stations - one every two miles of the loop. Each station will be stocked with food, liquids, ice and sponges to keep you cool, medical kits for safety and bathrooms.



What's Included

All participants will receive a Goodie Bag with great 20in24 Nike memorabilia.



The Awards

The top three male and female finishers of the Midnight Madness run will receive great awards. There will also be an award for the most illuminated runner.

The award ceremony for the Midnight Madness category will take place at 1:45 am on the deck of Lloyd Hall.



Minimum Age Requirements

All Midnight Madness participants must be at least 13 years old

A public parking lot is available at Lloyd Hall. However, this is a relatively small lot and is often full. A map of alternative street parking can be found here. You may also want to consider getting dropped off.
